This is a very new local wiki for Windsor Ontario.
If you decide to join WikiWindsor please add your real name to your user page. You would not introduce yourself to a new neighbor with a fake name so it's best not to do so with your wiki neighbors.
On-line many folks create fake identities to troll site users or trash talk a restaurant, business, or individual. This type of behavior is not constructive and is unfair to the recipient of the BS. A local wiki should be fair and what you say you should be willing to say to someone face to face. Never post anything you wouldn't want associated with your name.
The positive side of using your real name?
Trust. If a person doesn't use their real name there is a reason for it. That may be a very good reason but often it's not.
Goodwill. People are less likely to snipe at or trash a person that they might meet some day.
Authorship. Being recognized and maybe honored as the author.
Reputation. You are part of many communities both on-line and off and you leave your footprints behind. If people can connect you to the real world then they'll understand you better and trust you more. With your positive contributions to the overall community you build a reputation and make the community better.
Things are still a bit basic at this point but I hope this place can become a great local resource.
